The Monkey Prince

In “The Monkey Prince,” we follow the unlikely adventure of Bodhi, a prince who is goaded by an enigmatic owl into seeing the truth about his kingdom at the top of the World Tree. In an enlightening revelation, Bodhi realizes his people have been using the timber of their own tree to build their treetop kingdom, threatening the entire society. As Bodhi climbs back up to his kingdom, he must convince the other simian citizens of the danger he found, arriving finally to confront his father, the king. Through playful rhymes and emotional, imaginative scenes, the story aims to captivate children while gently instilling a sense of responsibility and appreciation for the world around them and their place in keeping it. The story is written to be read aloud by parents concerned about how to raise engaged and enlightened children. “The Monkey Prince” was created to instill an innate understanding of our role in the climate crisis and how to activate a new generation.
